Cross-Connection Control remains a critical link in protecting public health by maintaining the quality of the drinking water. Water quality will be jeopardized without a persistent effort in cross connection control. All cross connections can be defined as either an actual or a potential cross connection between the public water supply and any other environment that could contain other substances, which under certain circumstances, could allow such substances to enter the public water supply.
