EPA Presents an AWIA Update for Water Operators

EPA will provide a 2 hour training course covering America’s Water Infrastructure Act (AWIA). The course will review the requirements in details, explaining what a risk assessment is and how to conduct. The requirement for water suppliers to have an emergency response plan and how to develop, train, exercise and keep up to date will also be reviewed. Finally, the numerous resources which EPA has developed to assist water suppliers with meeting these requirements will be covered along with how to certify to EPA that the work has been completed. Plenty of opportunity for Q&A will be offered.
Instructor: Patti Kay Wisniewski (pronounced Vish-nev-ski)
Patti Kay has been with EPA Region III for 40 years performing a wide range of duties including: state grants and contracts management; drinking water rule development, state primacy agency oversight, and implementing resiliency and preparedness initiatives within the drinking water program.
Patti Kay has a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science from Cook College, Rutgers University.
Most recently, she has been working on cybersecurity and emergency preparedness related matters; implementing the America’s Water Infrastructure Act requirements for risk assessments and Emergency Response Plans.
Patti Kay is a lifetime member of AWWA and a member of Water Works Operators of Pennsylvania. She has been recognized by numerous organizations for her support to the water sector.
